You know me, I adore writing original characters. Sometimes I wish people did that more since not every character the show gives us is decent to work with, and this way I could do exactly what I wanted. Edmond was the relief from writing Sayuri, basically. Friendly and accepting whereas she was closed and hostile. A good balance so I didn't get dragged just into the depressing stuff :P
