My hiatus has been totally unintentional, I swear! Besides an upswing in my work activity -- and longer hours to go with it -- I've been consumed by my latest story which today passed 20,000 words. Is there a Big Bang I can randomly participate in? ;) I had no idea it would turn out this long! But, the end is in sight, I'm serious! And none too soon, I can't wait to get back to the CSI 'Verse and my, much lighter and much more humorous, spn_j2_xmas story. The snark it will have! And it's going to be Smith/Wesson, so GET EXCITED NOW.

I'm also thinking about signing up for j2_everafter, but it's not a must. I came up with a story idea I'm really excited about, but if the prompt gets claimed before I can get it, I'll just take it as a sign that I need to be working on other things. But, it's not a prompt that screams J2, since there's no classic romance in the original plot, but I intend to go off of the sub/original material of the story more than the Disney version. Much more fun that way. Anyone else signing up? What's your prompt, tell me!

But yes, rumors of my fandom-death have been greatly exaggerated :) I've written a couple of comment!fics I'll repost (nice and edited) later.

Actually, a slight bit of distance made me work on farmers, and I got through a very awkward scene and now I actually have ideas to move forward. I don't think there's going to be a big angsty event, but I don't think the story needs that. Am I wrong?

That's very excellent, I'm happy for you! I don't think we need a BIG angsty event given the tone of the whole story is kind of heavy. As long as there's forward progress in the plot and characters, you'll be good :)

I'M ALIVE. AND WRITING. BUT NOT FICS. Last words I wrote ... completed the architectural designs and preliminary mechanical, electrical and structural evaluations on schedule, allowing the facility to proceed into construction, which was completed in just 56 work days. The project was bid in April of 2010 and the school opened for teachers on August 9th. WAY LESS EXCITING THAN COPS!

Ah, Dean Smith. Randomly I find myself wishing for an entire season of Smith/Wesson hi-jinks. Partially why I'm so excited to write them again for the xmas exchange :)

Normally I don't tend to go for the big challenge communities, and I especially shouldn't after how much I stressed out the one time I did. But I snooped over there, and...ohman, they've got the Black Cauldron listed. :x Ohman. Ohman. Now I'm trying to talk myself out of signing up. Oh man, you should! I'm totally not the person to talk you out of it! I want to do a version of Peter Pan that's more based on Barrie's story, the more recent movie, and Hook, rather than Disney, but I think it still counts :)

YOU SHOULD SIGN UP! I mean, it's not a contract, but it could be really really fun. I wrote for The Three Musketeers the first year the challenge was held, and it was a blast.
