summary. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles met in college, two English majors who eventually became inseparable. Their friendship led them to accept teaching positions at the same private high school. Nothing could come between them until Jared—unable to come to terms with his own bisexuality—decided to set Jensen up on a blind date with his handsome gym-buddy Tahmoh Penikett, a former Olympic swimmer turned coach. Through falling in love, pulling away, and more than their fair share of sexual tension, the three men need to figure out a way to coexist together before their individual relationships crumble for good. Like an anagram puzzle, there might just be more than one way to fix this unexpected love triangle.

You might be looking at the pairing and asking 'What was she thinking?" but I would beg you to reconsider. At it's core, this is a story about how Jared and Jensen move from friendship into something more, with the help of Tahmoh who loves them both. I have never personally been in a three-way relationship, so I am in no way trying to pass myself off as an expert - I merely went where the story told me to go. You all know, in my heart, I LOVE J2, and nothing could ever take its place. Just think of this as a side-trip with Tahmoh added in for fun. Let's call it a J2 + BONUS story, okay? If you like J2-Happily Ever After stories and wouldn't mind a third hot guy in the mix without taking away from the EPICNESS that is J2, this story is for you.

Again, I have no history with polyamorous relationsips. THIS IS MY OWN INTERPRETATION.

This story would not have happened without dugindeep. Last year when I was taking prompts, she asked me for a Jensen/Tahmoh story that involved either teachers, swimmers, or blind dates. I gave her all three. But then, when I SWORE I wasn't going to do another round of BB, I started thinking about how even in a Jensen/Tahmoh story, Jared kept coming up in conversation. And that's where ANAGRAM was born. So this is clearly all Amy's fault. Blame her. I have to thank dugindeep even more for being willing to beta the majority of this story right before she left on vacation, too. Bless her greedy little heart!

I loved reading this, it's so wonderful to see someone write polyamore and not only threesomes. This was wonderful, it was so sweet the way you portrayed the "wrongness" of a good relationship, just because something was missing and the way they had to figure it out.

Also, the idea of these three together? Yes please!

Tahmoh was wonderfully written and I was silly happy to see him in a good role and not villainous or just an ex that's mentioned in passing.

This was a wonderful story and I'd love to read more, see how their lives slot together, or when they tell people and...and...and... I just wanna know everything :D thank you so much for writing this! <3

I've never written polyamory before, and I found myself just sitting and thinking, not writing, about it a lot during this whole process. I might not have gotten it *right*, but I tried to be true to my own emotions when it came to the whole idea. And I thought, hey, if you're supposed to be with more than one person, a relationship, even if it's good, would feel *off*.

I just can't see Tahmoh as a villain, honestly. Gadreel, maybe, because of how he played his role the first part of that season. But IRL, Tahmoh is a great guy, and I was desperate to see him fleshed out a little more in a story, rather than being mentioned in passing. He'll probably become my new fave RPS character outside of the Js :P

I want to know everything, too! I definitely have ideas for little timestamps and slices of life stories, so you never know! Just have to recover from this one, first.

Have been meaning to get over here from AO3 to comment for a while- What a beautiful story. You handled the transitions from 2 to 3 beautifully and believably. As always you provide fleshed out characters and went in yet another different direction successfully. Please NEVER give up on writing you do it so well.
