Summary: Before his 18th birthday, bitter foster kid Jensen Ackles was given a choice between prison time or military service. When he’s finally discharged, he moves to Boston to live with the only person who ever gave a damn about him, but the anger that’s plagued him since he was a teen refuses to let him settle into a normal life. Pushed to the brink, Jensen discovers the world of illegal fighting and uses it to burn the violence out of his system. Empty warehouses, rundown factories, and foreclosed clubs become the arenas where Jensen fights for money and relief.

One night, after emerging victorious from his latest challenge, he finds a young man waiting for him, offering him a prize he won’t refuse. Jensen sees so much of himself in the skinny, stubborn kid, and he’s torn between his desire to corrupt and his need to protect. Jared Padalecki is lost, working at a small diner and trying to make ends meet. He’s stuck between a home that doesn’t want him and a dangerous world filled with people who wouldn’t hesitate to take advantage of him. Jensen finds himself fighting to keep Jared from repeating his own mistakes while at the same time battling the rage inside him. Will it consume him before he can save Jared, or is Jensen the one in need of saving?

Notes: This was a story idea that I came up with a long time ago and never got around to writing. When BB season rolled around, I pulled it back out and gave it another go. It morphed from a simple PWP into a 40K+ behemoth in almost no time at all. I’m glad I finally finished it, as it took me to several unexpected places!

Back around with a handful of fills for spn_masquerade! I had the opportunity to fill five amazing prompts, all very very different but fun in their own way. Some new things for me, and some not :)

Jensen's job never gets easier. His latest crime scene is no exception. Tasked with investigating the violent murder of a young woman whose body was discovered in a famous actor's hotel room, Jensen tries not to let the circumstances of the crime, not to mention the intrusive press coverage, affect his ability to do his job.

Amidst the chaos, however, he meets Jared Padalecki. While his instincts as a CSI tell him to stay away, Jensen can't help being drawn to the struggling actor. As the case progresses, Jensen wonders if Jared might be more than a simple distraction during a stressful case.

He could be what saves Jensen from burning out completely.

As promised, this is a totally revamped version of my original story. I have removed the entire CSI 'Verse from my LJ so that I can edit and refresh each part. For this first story, I've added more than 3000 words. The story was never originally written to have sequels, yet it ended up having four, and this one really needed a lot of editing. I hope you enjoy the result, whether you've read and enjoyed the series before, or if you're new! Trust me when I say that this version is so much better than the original. It's not just in the details, but hopefully in the story arc as well. I mean, Jensen even has a specialty now! Trust me, that'll come up later :)

When the hottest man Jensen has ever seen walks into their bar one Saturday morning, Jensen thinks his dreams have come true. There’s only one problem: Jared isn’t an Arsenal fan.

notes. A lot of this is based off my own experiences with my local Arsenal Supporters Club. It's amazing. I started writing this at the beginning of last season, meaning it's been a year since I began. I got distracted writing another Soccer!AU [He Gives Me Fever (Pitch) for brokenhighways], but I finally managed to finish this one, and I'm a little in love with these two. football = soccer and Tottenham Hotspur is a garbage team.

Life on the road gives Jensen the family he’s always wanted, freedom to express his desires, and plenty of lovers, but Jensen longs for a partner who sees him as more than just a pretty face in a fancy costume. When he walks into a saloon the night before a competition and finds a tall, slim gunslinger standing alone at the bar, Jensen senses that passion could burn bright between them. However, Jensen knows that the only thing more dangerous than a gunslinger's aim would be falling in love with one. Though they both make their home on the road, Jensen's job is to celebrate life. Jared's job is to end it.

notes. I wasn’t going to participate in BB this year, but around March I remembered that I had started a short story which I really enjoyed. It was a PWP featuring Jensen wearing a corset, and Jared the gunslinger. It was based on an episode of one of my favorite older television series, The Magnificent Seven. I decided that it would be fun (*eyeroll*) to expand the story and give it a little more background, a little more porn, and a nice, happy ending. Three months later I have a full Harlequin Western, and I couldn’t be happier.

This is by no means in keeping with history. It is an idealized Old West where cross-dressing wasn’t common, but neither it nor homosexuality was frowned upon. It is also a Harlequin story and proud of it ♥

thanks. I have to thank cackling_madly for choosing my story right away and being so excited to get started. I knew that the prompt might not appeal to everyone, but I was clearly chosen by the PERFECT artist. We were totally meant to be. She wanted to draw the exact same scenes I envisioned, and she’s done some fantastic work! Her Jensen is GORGEOUS, as he should be, and Danneel and Jared popped right out of my head and into her drawings. She worked her tail off, so PLEASE PLEASE leave her some love!

I am MASSIVELY grateful to one_2_3_4 and dugindeep for helping me whip this thing into shape! one_2_3_4 had the first read through, and without her suggestions this would have ended up as a shell of a story – good, but missing all the best parts. She’s also the one who came up with the ending, although I wish she’d told me sooner :P dugindeep polished up the beta in record time and saved me from posting incomplete paragraphs.
