CORPUS DELICTI
[THE FACTS OF A CRIME]
J2 CSI 'Verse - Story One
Explicit. 10000 words. AU.
Jensen's job never gets easier. His latest crime scene is no exception. Tasked with investigating the violent murder of a young woman whose body was discovered in a famous actor's hotel room, Jensen tries not to let the circumstances of the crime, not to mention the intrusive press coverage, affect his ability to do his job.
Amidst the chaos, however, he meets Jared Padalecki. While his instincts as a CSI tell him to stay away, Jensen can't help being drawn to the struggling actor. As the case progresses, Jensen wonders if Jared might be more than a simple distraction during a stressful case.
He could be what saves Jensen from burning out completely.
Read it here on AO3.
As promised, this is a totally revamped version of my original story. I have removed the entire CSI 'Verse from my LJ so that I can edit and refresh each part. For this first story, I've added more than 3000 words. The story was never originally written to have sequels, yet it ended up having four, and this one really needed a lot of editing. I hope you enjoy the result, whether you've read and enjoyed the series before, or if you're new! Trust me when I say that this version is so much better than the original. It's not just in the details, but hopefully in the story arc as well. I mean, Jensen even has a specialty now! Trust me, that'll come up later :)
Thank you to

That being said, it's for a good reason!
I'm refreshing the entire universe! Let's face it, the first two stories were never meant to have sequels, so there was a lot that didn't match up and there were holes everywhere. I loved the stories, but they needed work. And I'm happy to say that the first story, Corpus Delicti [The Facts of a Crime], has already been rewritten, adding 3000 words to the original 6800 word story. It'll be so much better, I promise, and will hold so much more for those new to the 'Verse and those that enjoyed it before.
Needless to say, this is all serving to refresh my memory as I work on the final story. Abandoning this universe has always been my greatest regret and now I have the time and inspiration to fix that. So, the story should be reposted on AO3 sometime this week or next, and I'll be sure to leave a note here as well as in the original story posts (which will be replaced with the new versions).
I feel awful that the story's not complete, and it may never be finished. I don't like having unfinished projects and Works-In-Progress bug the shit out of me, so I'd rather not have people start and get to the end, wondering what happens.
Sorry about this! I've been planning on doing this for a while now, since it became clear that my fandom interests lie elsewhere. Not to say I won't change my mind, but if you want a copy of the stories, best to take them now. I don't have a PDF of the stories, but if you'd like to make one and share it, please let me know.
First off, I hope everyone going to WinCon and ChiCon has a blast! So many awesome people in one place, I'm totally jealous, but I have awesome plans of my own that weekend that cannot be changed :-) I'm expecting STORIES AND PICTURES AND FUN TIMES from y'all, okay?
Let's see...NEWS!

There are totally projects in the works! I have a random, out-of-the-blue J2 AU I've been working on for a few weeks, and it involves FARMERS. Yeah, I know. But it's currently over 11,000 words long and hopefully I'll get it wrapped up before 20K! A little angstier than my usual fare, and the characters are totally new for me, especially Jensen, but it's been awesome to write. Have a snippet!
Jensen stops with moist dirt all over his arms. He feels every speck of it on his fingers, under his nails where it's gotten into his gloves.
"My dad told me what you were like when you got here," Jared says. "That you were desperate."
Everything's decaying right in front of him—life reduced to its simplest compounds under the sun, at the mercy of the elements. Those same forces haven't spared Jensen. He's been stripped down to will and instinct and need.
"I've known guys like you." Jared's voice drops lower, out of place in the sun-drenched afternoon. "You get hooked on something, mess your life up for a little while. And you come out here looking for penance or looking to forget about your problems. But soon enough they're gonna follow you and it's only a matter of time until you fuck up again—"
So, with that story planned for October, that leaves November for the CSI 'VERSE!. I know, you probably thought I'd forgotten all about it, but that's so far from the truth! I think about it, a lot ;-) In fact, there's a whole binder full of "thoughts", you might say. The plot and scope is huge, and there are some big surprises! Have another snippet...
Jared lets a breath go. "There's no talking in charades."
Kissing Jared is an addiction Jensen would plead to in court, the healthiest dependence in his bullet-riddled lifestyle. Something about the way Jared moves his tongue, matching Jensen's every move. And the sounds...throaty purrs, vibrations across Jensen's palate; long, satisfied groans from belly-deep; breathy accents and soft tones. They create a new language for Jensen to study.
Jared's long arms find their place around Jensen's lower back, squeezing once as they come out of the kiss, and he smiles.
"I'm not getting dirty from this."
"Shut up," Jensen urges, and slides down to his knees.
In addition to those two major projects, I still have a veteran!Jared/exec!Jensen story at 9,000 words, plus some of my

Okay, poll time! I've been curious about this for a while but now that I'm writing major pieces of this, I wanted to ask for y'alls opinion. Except for the most recent story, the 'Verse has been entirely from Jensen's point of view. For the next part, Jensen's going to be the main POV, but there's also a lot I wanted to get across from Jared's perspective. You'd be blind on a lot of things if I couldn't use Jared's POV in certain chapters, but I know that bothers some people. So...poll away!

summary. Three months ago, Jared Padalecki wanted nothing more than fame, fortune, and that fickle Hollywood dream. Now, he can't imagine his life without Jensen. But after Jensen's secret was revealed, Jared walked away from his boyfriend, angry and afraid, and he's no longer sure what their future holds. Jared knows they're meant to be together, but with a killer on the loose and his relationship in pieces, does that even matter?
n.b. This is the fifth, and longest, part of the CSI 'Verse and is set immediately following I Offer You The Lean Streets. All previous stories have been from Jensen's point of view, and this takes a look at how the boys came together, and how they move on, from Jared's perspective. Beta'ed by

[Jared/Jensen | ADULT | ~5k]
Established Relationship, Series, Crossover.
Fourth in the J2/CSI ‘Verse. When things threaten to come crashing down, Jensen does what he does best – avoids it.
( He takes a deep breath, feeling like he's going to come apart any second. The room is dark, almost intimate as he touches the body in front of him; it's cold and unnatural but still familiar. )
NOTES: All right, this installment is almost an interlude. The previous stories take place over a number of weeks, but this one was 24 hours of insanity and angst. It was essential, if short, to get me to the point I needed to be for the next installment.
Thank you for reading! Feedback is welcome, the story is unbetaed. The rest of my stories, including the CSI 'Verse, can be found HERE. Title from a Jorge Luis Borges poem, via

Pairing: Jared/Jensen [J2/CSI Crossover]
Rating: Adult
Word Count: 10,800
Disclaimer: Very much not mine.
Summary: Third in the J2 CSI 'Verse. Sequel to Corpus Delicti and Evidence In Context Will most likely not make sense without having read those first.
Jensen can feel how much Jared needs this, needs to be controlling it. It's a way to show Jensen how much he'd been missed, what the separation meant. Words could only go so far, not always Jared's specialty. The actions speak volumes to Jensen, and for a man who professionally dissects conversations, he's reading Jared's silence like a book.
( And there's this wicked bloody set we're using today, made me think about you. Now that's romantic. )
Continued in Part Two.

He doesn't know why Jared avoids the subject but Jensen is terrified. It's his job to read into what people are really saying, can't stand the thought that Jared might lie to him and he'd know it.
( The graveyard shift took some getting used to, but not as much as Jensen had figured. )
Unbetaed, all mistakes are my own. Feedback welcomed! And as a side note, I don't normally use a beta for fics like this, but I'd love to have someone to read through them, a beta more focused on storylines than grammar.
Coincidentally, it's also my best friend in the world's birthday today! As such, this story, and all the inspiration that came with it, is for

Summary: He has no idea how to say it, how to tell Jared that he is what Jensen needs. Jared can be what saves Jensen from sharing Grissom's fate.
This is based of an episode of C.S.I. called The Accused Is Entitled. It features Chad Michael Murray as Tom Haviland, hence where the idea originated.
( When everything is said and done, Jensen's going to move to the mountains. Or the desert. Somewhere nearly devoid of human life. )
