[SOUNDTRACK] It's Gonna Take A Lot

This is perhaps less of a soundtrack, and more of a list of the songs that made this story possible. "Africa" became the 3rd most listened to song on my iTunes, and that's saying something. Several of these are instrumental tracks, or sung in foreign languages, which helped immensely to set the fic's mood. More Rustic Overtones available upon request! Dave Matthews Band is mentioned several times in the fic, but picking my favorite DMB songs for this soundtrack would be like picking my favorite organ [even though, for the record, it's SPLEEN].

Hans Zimmer // Barra Barra

Hans Zimmer // Of The Earth

James Newton Howard // London

James Newton Howard // Thought I'd Never Call?

Emmanuel Jal // Baai [with Abdel Gadir Salim]

Karsh Kale // Manifest [Rara Avis Remix]

New Found Glory // The Promise
I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say (I promise you)
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be (I promise you)
But if you wait around a while, I'll make you fall for me(I promise you)
I promise, I promise you I will.

Niyaz // Allahi Allah

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan // Mustt Must [Massive Attack Remix]

Toto // Africa
I stopped an old man along the way,
Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say, Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you

The Middlebury Dissipated Eight // Africa
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

Oasis // Don't Go Away
So don't go away, say that you'll stay
Forever and a day, in the time of my life
Cause I need more time, yes I need more time
Just to make things right

Oasis // The Masterplan
I'm not saying right is wrong
It's up to us to make
The best of all things that come our way
And all the things that came have past
The answer's in the looking glass

These are two of my favorite songs, ever, and it's kind of strange to hear people currently obsessing over B.E.B. since it was used in The Watchmen trailer.
The Smashing Pumpkins // The Beginning is the End is the Beginning
Send a heartbeat to
The void that cries through you
Relive the pictures that have come to pass
For now we stand alone

The Smashing Pumpkins // The End is the Beginning is the End
Is it bright where you are
Have the people changed
Does it make you happy you're so strange
And in your darkest hour, I hold secrets flame

Rustic Overtones // Slowly
I swear that I knew you well
There were nights that I cried like hell
I never said a word but you could probably tell
The words you left out were the ones that I felt

Rustic Overtones // Pink Belly
What is the value of a lover that just walks away?
I swear I'll never fail you
Just don't fail me and we'll be okay
If we whisper real softly they can't hear a word that we say

I'm snagging like all of these because anything that makes me think of the awesomeness of this fic is worth it. And I sooooo know what you mean about B.E.B. The Batman and Robin soundtrack is so worth those two songs and now they're EVERYWHERE. Although, I must say, I was excited for Watchmen as it was, but when I heard that song in the trailer? There was squee-ing in the theater.

Such a great song, I know, and while I adore them both, B.E.B. is by far the fave. I kept reading people talking about a new Smashing Pumpkins song in the trailer, and then I saw it. Ha! I can't be THAT old that I remember the song from Batman and Robin (and I agree, the soundtrack was worth it for those, more than the movie!).

And thanks for the compliment on the fic! It was pretty much my first, so gracias!

I honestly can't believe that it's been eleven years since Batman and Robin. When that song came out, I listened to it on repeat for months. I still do, actually. I put it in fanmixes all the time. I feel asleep to that song so many nights, I swear sometimes I can hear it echo when I'm drifting off.

You're very welcome. It really was amazing.

Ohh... It's too bad. I really loved this story and I wanted to get the soundtrack. Every link is broken, I guess it's an old story. do you have the soundtrack somewhere else now? maybe in a zipped version? Or could you re uplaod it?
Thanks.
and, once again, loved it.
