[TM Designs] Spring/Summer 2009

The pieces I made during the end of May and so far this month. More simple designs that feature cool stones rather than any unique ways of putting them together. I've been trying to dedicate some time every week to at least *brainstorm* or put together random ideas, even if nothing comes out of them, because I don't want to go months without working on jewelry as has been known to happen!

These were just some wicked cool stones! Jet Swarovski crystals, Black Quartzite, and sterling silver.

More of a simple design, a commissioned piece. Opalite [which doesn't photograph well since it's soooo reflective - it's actually more opaque], Swarovski crystals, and sterling silver.

Jasper Pendant, Amethyst stones, Swarovski crystals and sterling silver. I just really love making purple things right now and this one was simple and pretty ;)

Dyed Quartz and sterling silver. This one didn't photograph well, so I chose the one that ended up with colors closest to reality.

Labradorite pendant [which ranges from dark grey to olive green with reflective opal-like flashes], and two strands of pearls [one freshwater, one Swarovski] interspersed with sterling silver.

Mother of Pearl pendant, Green Quartz stones, and sterling silver.

Large nuggets of White Turquoise, Smoky Topaz faceted stones, and sterling silver. It's heavy, but it's really gorgeous.

Just something I put together with a ton of various old Jared beads I had laying around. It's double stranded, and I messed up the back [but it's mine, so it's not a big deal]. The beads are such cool colors though.

I started making multi-strand beaded necklaces to use up some of the various beads I have laying around. Each of these are four-stranded, really light and easy to wear, and can be twisted for a different look. They're not very expensive, and are a combination of Czech glass beads, sterling silver elements, Swarovski crystals, pearls, and seed beads in colors to match.

Added elements in this one are Mother of Pearl beads, frosted glass, and vintage glass beads [I had some old necklaces from my grandmothers].

Some frosted glass and vintage beads in this one as well. I love the pinks ;)

I need to choose some more, cooler styles. Just because I like simple designs doesn't mean they're everyone's cup o' tea! I just put together a multi-strand necklace in reds and purples, and bought this amazing half-strand of gorgeous purple striped beads [similar to the ones in the first picture].

Favorites? Colors I should try mixing together? ;)

Fic wise? Still on my Big Bang, and abandoning that every so often to work on Smith/Wesson's first hunt when I need a break!

These are all gorgeous, K. Seriously, I cannot pick a favorite. I keep saying, "That one" but then see another and it's "No, that one." They are all made of WIN.

Making them is a good distraction from, well, everything. Sort of wish I could keep them all but then I'd be sooooo much more broke than I already am ;) There's a lot of talented jewelers out there who can do such awesome things with stones, and have the budget to buy the good stuff, but I'm just glad when someone likes what I make, simple or not.

I just love the Jasper one, really makes a feature of the gorgeous pendant, and, yeah pretty much all of the multi-stranded ones. Oh I really want some new jewllery now, so pretty and shiny... (This icon so applies for necklaces too...)

Yeah, with the Jasper one, it didn't need a major necklace since the colors and shape of the pendant itself were so neat!

And clearly you can never have enough jewelry! I keep ALL of these if it didn't mean I would go broke.

These are all really beautiful! You keep turning out wonderful creations, I'm thrilled to see them.

I love putting purple and blue together, as well as orange and red. The right shades of the latter could shine like a fireburst, I'd really love to see what you could make with something like that.

Thank you! ♥ It's an expensive addiction - I can't seem to stop.

Purple and blue is greater than anyone realizes! Sometimes people tend towards contrasting colors instead of looking right to the neighbor on the color wheel. Fiery/Hot stones are great for fall and winter - makes you feel a little warmer ;)

Oh, wow, these are gorgeous. I really like the labradorite and the quartzite in particular. Really, really lovely.

Thanks!! Labradorite is one of my favorites, mostly because it can match with so many other colors and stones. When I find cool stones like the quartzite I just can't help buying them ;)

The multistrand/multibead green and blue variations one is amazing.

I think that's my favorite out of the bunch ;) I may keep that one for myself and make another with the same kinds of stones. The variety of colors in in, from lime green to cobalt blue, make for a more stunning necklace, methinks!

The different sizes make it pleasantly tactile too, I'll bet.

It's almost *soft* to wear, which is a weird way to describe it, but untwisted, it just sort of drapes over your collarbones and moves with you. It was the first multi-strand one I attempted and I think, by far, it turned out the best. And just watch, I'll make a second one with the SAME stones and I won't like it as much! ;)

I love the mother of pearl ones. I'm such a pearl lover. Hahah. :D

Mother of Pearl is for a beachy, relaxed, laid back kind of gal...or the type of gal who wishes she was all of those things! =)

I love the multi-strand beaded one with all the greens and the blues. Gorgeous! And the ones with the vintage beads - I love the idea that they came from your grandmothers. That's cool!

As for other ideas, I'm totally clueless with stuff like that, lol. I do have a thing for turquiose and brown though, but that's about all I've got. ;)

Smith/Wesson first hunt? I think I may just have made a very embarrassing squeaky noise. \o/!

I was surprised at what my grandmothers had! One was more faux-crystal and costume inclined, while the other has a lot of art-deco pieces and vintage glass - fun stuff though!

Turquoise and brown is a GREAT combo - very earthy, yet modern and fashionable at the same time.

Smith/Wesson first hunt?

Yeah, they're trying to hunt anyway, but my brain keeps going straight to the "sex", so I'm just writing bits as I think of them ;)

I love all of them, but my favourite is definitely the second. So Deco! How about greens mixed together with smoky browns? Sort of earthy looking?

Thank you ♥ I love earthy tones - second only to jewel tones in my personal style preferences! Putting together ideas, even if they never pan out, is the fun part, and even if the combos are SO random. Never know what you'll end up with...

Gorgeous... I love several of them. The purple jasper, the mother of pearl, the blue-green multi strand... And that opalite sounds like something I'd want to see in real life.

Heh, thanks! ♥ I wish the opalite could photograph better - I'll have to attempt it with a photobox or something that can substitute or absorb the flash so the stones don't reflect so severely. It looks like a whole different necklace depending on the light!

I LOVE the last one! The colours, the different stones. Beautiful :)

I love pink! ♥ And I had so many extra kinds of pink beads laying around that making that was almost a no-brainer ;)
