First, Castiel. Boy, am I glad he called Dean out. Despite being such a Sam/Dean fan, I've always liked Castiel and secretly ship Castiel/Dean once in a neon blue moon ;) Don't judge me--I mean, seriously, have you ever read

Oh, poor Bobby. Although, gives the show a chance to bring in other hunters and not have Bobby solving everyone's problems. Case in point--Ellen, Jo, and Rufus. I don't have much feeling either way about Rufus, but I was definitely excited for Jo to come back. But I'm honestly disappointed in how little she was featured. I get that with everything happening there was very little time for a reunion, but at least we saw how glad Ellen was to see them alive. I've got nothing against Ellen and I'm glad she's survived everything thus far too, but still.
Plot line was neat--wasn't expecting to see a Horseman this early though I'd heard the rumors about at least one of them being featured.
And then everything going on between Sam and Dean...I didn't think this episode was as painful as the season premiere. At least the issues are OUT there. And I'm SUPER glad that WAR made it sound like everything Sam was thinking was so bad, because I think Sam distancing himself is a GOOD thing. If Sam and Dean stay together much longer, things will get worse and this gives them a chance to actually miss each other. Honestly, I knew the separation was coming so the ending wasn't nearly as bad for me as it could have been. And I mean, DEAN OFFERED SAM THE IMPALA. If that doesn't speak to how much love they still have for each other, nothing does. I think it would have been cheesy and unrealistic if Dean had tried to convince Sam to stay...they need the time apart, Dean just as much as Sam.
Oh yeah, the God thing...I think it's a great turn for the show to take, very much in the essence of Dogma. And Castiel leading the charge to find him? That's awesome. Sort of back to what I was saying before, I absolutely don't mind Castiel having a larger part in the show. I love Jared/Jensen/Sam/Dean, but variety is the spice of life, right?
I nearly forgot...THE MUSIC! How awesome was that!? A little CCR never goes awry. Maybe because SPN is suddenly a hit for the CW, they've got a bigger music budget this season. That would be amazing.
If it matters, I've already been spoiled for next week [on purpose :)]...CANNOT WAIT.

I don't know what's happening next week. BUT I'M EXCITED. :D
BE EXCITED.
BUT! You ship Cas/Dean? I cannot be your friend any more. So sorry.
I don't ship Castiel/Dean above Sam/Dean, certainly. But you of all people should know that sometimes it's fun to read something else! And hell, there actually *is* Dean/Castiel subtext too. As a good Sam/Dean shipper, I can admit when another pairing has its moments =) Plus, there are a few good C/D writers whose stories leave me just as satisfied as if I'd read a good, long Sam/Dean!
So, too bad. I'm forcing you to still be my friend whether you like it or not.
I am reminded of Craig saying, "We do not judge here." Yes, everything is about Craig these days.
Well, if you are *forcing* me, I guess I have no choice.
I love that they had one of the Horsemen and I would lovelovelove to see more. Perhaps Famine could be twisted into something to do with Sam's hunger for blood?
I think letting Sam go in itself was an act of love, honestly.

I can see that, seriously. Keeping them together would be selfish--we know they love each other deep down, but sometimes you just need to let go. I think Dean knew that Sam wanted the break, and knew it would be for the best.
