I was marathoning the original Law & Order, so I decided to have a little fun ;) And by the time I posted these on Tumblr, I had backstories for everyone. JESUS. So, I'm going to tease y'all as much as I teased myself with these...

I'll give you Jared and Jensen's...

Detective Jensen Ackles did everything the hard way. At fourteen, he chose the streets over foster care. Out there, at least, having sex meant getting paid. The nightmares were the same either way. Being taunted at the police academy for being gay meant nothing to him; he graduated first in his class with three solid offers and zero friends. It took meeting the right captain for Jensen to finally make detective, one who was able to convince the brass that an openly gay detective would do wonders for their image. But it also meant living under a microscope... One mistake and the powers would bust him down to patrol faster than a suspect could spin a lie.

Senior ADA Jared Padalecki was just hired by the Dallas District Attorney to boost conviction rates. He left a long-time boyfriend in California, but he can't seem to keep his eyes off the gruff, green-eyed detective investigating Jared's first murder case.

And, LOL, great minds! I've done something similar, also fueled by an L&O marathon, except mine was (a) just art, and (b) Sam and Dean rather than J2. :)

But the stories you'd spin would be much better!

You know, I kinda saw this fic as more of a series of vignettes, kinda like the show where you get glimpses from different points of view. So maybe we COULD do it :) I hadn't really planned out much besides what I wrote up there and the actors I included...

Troubled, yep, and kind of an asshole most of the time, but smart like crazy and with a definite chip on his shoulder. Ridiculously private (which gives Aldis a fun challenge trying to get him to open up, of course, now that they're partners), fearing that people are looking for any excuse to bust him down!

I've watched L&O since the beginning (just about every incarnation) and it still grabs my attention like few other shows. It's surprising that there haven't been many (if any?) J2 versions so I'm waiting for yours with bated breath! And I like the casting, usually Jensen is cast in the lawyer role, so looking forward to a switch there (and his back story is very intriguing).
